| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 | | 28-15 as follows: |
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/28-15) (from Ch. 122, par. 28-15) |
| 7 | | Sec. 28-15. Textbooks provided and loaned to pupils-Sale to |
| 8 | | pupils. The The governing body of every school district having |
| 9 | | voted in favor of
furnishing free textbooks or electronic |
| 10 | | textbooks under the provisions of Sections 28-14 through
28-19 |
| 11 | | shall provide, at the expense of the district, textbooks or |
| 12 | | electronic textbooks for use in
the public schools and loan |
| 13 | | them free to the pupils. Textbooks so furnished
shall remain |
| 14 | | the property of the school district. The governing body shall
|
| 15 | | also provide for the sale of such textbooks or electronic |
| 16 | | textbooks at cost to pupils of the
schools in the district |
| 17 | | wishing to purchase them for their own use. |
