| 3 | | replacing lines 1 through 5 with the following:

| 4 | | "the court without a jury. Except as provided in Article 20 or |
| 5 | | 25 of this Act, and except for condemning authorities that have |
| 6 | | obtained approval pursuant to Section 8-406.1 of the Public |
| 7 | | Utilities Act, if either party in the condemnation action |
| 8 | | demands a trial by jury under this Section, the condemning |
| 9 | | authority shall not be granted title or possession and the |
| 10 | | owner shall not be restrained from denying access to the |
| 11 | | property until the jury ascertains compensation.".
