(725 ILCS 185/1) (from Ch. 38, par. 301) Sec. 1. Pretrial services shall be provided by a local pretrial services agency or the Office. (a) The pretrial services agency shall provide the circuit court with accurate background data regarding the pretrial release of persons charged with felonies and effective supervision of compliance with the terms and conditions imposed on release. (b) Before entering upon the duties of office, each pretrial officer shall take and subscribe to an oath to support the constitution and laws of the United States and the State of Illinois and to perform faithfully the duties of that office.
