Biography
Ventura was born and raised in Joliet. She graduated from Benedictine University with a B.S. in Mathematics and later with an A.S. in Biology from Tidewater Community College. Former actuary, naturalist, pet nurse, substitute teacher and business director. She served from 2018-2022 on the Will County Board and was the Vice President of the Forest Preserve District of Will County.
She currently serves as a full-time legislator in the IL State Senate, since 2023. She is the Chair of the Human Rights committee, the Vice-chair of Public Health; and serves on the following committees: Local Government; Child Welfare; Financial Institutions, and Appropriations. She is appointed to the Human Trafficking Task Force, and Public Financing of Judicial Elections Task Force, as well as a member of the National Council of State Legislators and The Council of State Governments National Intergovernmental Affairs Committee.
She is a proud mother to twin daughters.
