AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
adding Section 143.35 as follows:

Sec. 143.35. Optional rental vehicle coverage. |
(a) In response to all applications for a policy of |
automobile insurance, as defined in paragraph (a) of Section |
143.13, received by an insurance company, the insurance |
company shall provide the applicant written notice regarding |
the availability of rental vehicle coverage for an insured |
vehicle as a result of a cause of loss covered by the policy |
contract, including the coverage limits and costs thereof. |
(b) At least 30 days prior to each renewal of a policy of |
automobile insurance, as defined in paragraph (a) of Section |
143.13, the insurance company shall provide the insured |
written notice regarding the availability of rental vehicle |
coverage for an insured vehicle as a result of a cause of loss |
covered by the policy contract, including the coverage limits |
and costs thereof.
