| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3564, AS AMENDED, | ||||||
| 3 | with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment | ||||||
| 4 | No. 7, on page 3, immediately below line 26, by inserting the | ||||||
| 5 | following: | ||||||
| 6 | "(d) Security deposits and move-in fees. | ||||||
| 7 | (1) No landlord may charge a tenant both a security | ||||||
| 8 | deposit and a move-in or move-out fee. | ||||||
| 9 | (2) If a landlord charges a move-in or move-out fee, | ||||||
| 10 | the landlord shall provide the tenant with an itemized | ||||||
| 11 | list of the landlord's reasonable estimate of the costs of | ||||||
| 12 | services, including bundled services, that comprise the | ||||||
| 13 | move-in or move-out fee. A tenant may opt out of bundled | ||||||
| 14 | services. The landlord shall not impose a move-in or | ||||||
| 15 | move-out fee in excess of the reasonable costs detailed in | ||||||
| 16 | the itemized list provided to the tenant. The landlord may | ||||||
| 17 | not charge the tenant for costs associated with routine | ||||||
| 18 | maintenance and upkeep of the unit or premises."; and | ||||||
