| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Election judges and poll workers provide an | ||||||
| 3 | invaluable function for our State and are one of this nation's | ||||||
| 4 | most valuable resources; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Election judges and poll workers are truly the | ||||||
| 6 | unsung heroes of our democracy; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Election judges and poll workers, with their | ||||||
| 8 | training, dedication, and professionalism, play a vital role | ||||||
| 9 | in ensuring safe, fair, and free elections; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Election judges and poll workers uphold election | ||||||
| 11 | laws with integrity and accuracy, thereby maintaining public | ||||||
| 12 | trust and confidence in elections; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Election judges and poll workers have met the | ||||||
| 14 | challenges presented by a global pandemic during a | ||||||
| 15 | presidential election, shifting expectations, and | ||||||
| 16 | ever-evolving demands; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Tens of thousands of election judges and poll | ||||||
| 18 | workers serve on Election Day to ensure that Illinois | ||||||
| 19 | elections are conducted according to the principles of freedom | ||||||
| 20 | and liberty upon which our nation and State were founded; | ||||||

| 1 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 3 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we declare the weeks of August 1 through August 7, 2025 and | ||||||
| 5 | August 1 through August 7, 2026 as Illinois Election Judge and | ||||||
| 6 | Poll Worker Appreciation Week in the State of Illinois; and be | ||||||
| 7 | it further | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That we express our appreciation and admiration | ||||||
| 9 | for the election judges and poll workers of Illinois and the | ||||||
| 10 | vital role they perform in our elections, our democracy, and | ||||||
| 11 | our State. | ||||||
